A tabloid claims Angelina Jolie plans on crashing the Golden Globes just to mess with Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, both of whom are nominated. The story is totally bogus. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
Pitt and Aniston are both nominated for Golden Globes - him for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and her for The Morning Show. Jolie isn't up for an award, but according to Heat, she was invited to present at the ceremony and is keen to do so. "Angelina is tempted to accept the offer, knowing full well that Brad and Jen will be present," an alleged source tells the outlet.
The supposed insider continues, "She's fed up with being painted as the villain and feels there's no reason why she shouldn't be at the bash if they are." Actually, one good reason is that Jolie isn't nominated. Still, the questionable tipster adds, "She doesn't want it to be all about the reunion of Jen and Brad, when Ange is the one who's still married to him."
The seemingly phony source goes on, "Ange can't help but feel that Brad and Jen's rekindled friendship is payback from Jen, who always blamed Ange for the breakdown of her marriage to Brad. Ange is certainly not intimated by them, and she's looking forward to ruffling feathers by showing up to the Golden Globes. She wants to change the narrative from it being yet another Brad and Jen get together."
The tabloid's report is a total work of fiction. Gossip Cop reached out to an individual in Jolie's camp, who tells us the story is nonsense. Jolie won't be crashing the Golden Globes to ruin Pitt and Aniston's big night. The outlet's article reads more like bad fan fiction than journalism.
This wouldn't be the first time Heat has wrongly reported that the Maleficent star was seeking vengeance. In October, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Jolie was making a movie with Justin Theroux to get revenge on Aniston. There's no such project in the works. Also, Aniston and Theroux are on great terms, so the premise didn't make sense.
Last year, the publication said Jolie would be getting revenge on Pitt by bashing him in a series of TV interviews. That never happened. Also last year, the tabloid made up a different story related to the Golden Globes. The outlet claimed Jolie and Aniston had a "face-to-face" showdown at the awards show. Both actresses did attend the ceremony in 2018, but they never had any sort of confrontation.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
