A new story alleging Angelina Jolie is "missing Brad Pitt more" than ever on Halloween is completely made-up. The claim is from a site that routinely churns out fabricated stories about the estranged spouses. Much like its bogus report last year about Pitt trick-or-treating with Jolie on their "favorite" holiday, Gossip Cop is told the latest article is also untrue.

According to HollywoodLife, Jolie "loves" Halloween, but she's "haunted" by memories of her marriage to Pitt. "This is the time of year she misses Brad Pitt the most," alleges the aptly nicknamed HollywoodLies, which will assuredly make up questionable claims in a few weeks (and later) about Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. One of the website's unnamed, untraceable and probably nonexistent sources is quoted as saying, "Halloween was always Brad and Angelina's favorite time of the year," and that it's "one of the times she misses Brad the most." It's also when she feels "most lonely," contends the outlet.

A few things bear mentioning about HollywoodLies' newest tall tale. While it's been widely reported by legitimate media organizations that Pitt and Jolie custody battle have been acrimonious, the blog has recently and preposterously been manufacturing one phony story after another about how she "misses" him. Clearly, those concocted articles are driving visitors to the outlet, which seems more interested in traffic than the truth.

In just the past three days alone, Gossip Cop has busted the often discredited website for falsely maintaining Jolie began missing Pitt after finding a T-shirt of his in her home. Of course, as we pointed out, it's impossible the piece of clothing was in her house, because Pitt never lived in that estate, which she bought in the spring with an $8 million loan from the actor. Then there was the phony article a day before that which Gossip Cop corrected about how Jolie was "lonely" and wanting to "reconnect" with Pitt.

A mere 24 hours before that, Gossip Cop shot down a HollywoodLies post about how Jolie wanted to talk to Pitt because she "misses his voice." Again, it's universally known Pitt and Jolie are in a bitter divorce and custody battle. She does not miss him.

Curiously, the habitually disproven blog seems to have forgotten how published a piece just a month ago about how Jolie "regrets" having ever been in a relationship with Pitt and wants him "out of her life" forever. Clearly, that angle didn't garner as much traffic as the entirely untrue premise about the actress missing Pitt.

Equally significant is that HollywoodLies has demonstrated a pattern for making up bogus Halloween reports involving Jolie, Pitt and their kids. While real reporters knew there was tension between the two, last year that frequently wrong website manufactured a fictitious story about Jolie inviting Pitt to trick-or-treat with their kids on Halloween. Of course, that never happened, much like so many other narratives the blog has cooked up, which have been proven false over time. Still, as we always do, Gossip Cop checked in with a Jolie confidante who told us on condition of anonymity the latest article from that outlet is also untrue.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
