Angelina Jolie is not having "second thoughts" about her divorce from Brad Pitt, despite a late and wrong claim. Gossip Cop can again correct this made-up premise, which was just regurgitated by yet another outlet that didn't bother to fact-check. As we previously reported and proved, Jolie is steadfast in her decision to divorce Pitt.
The International Business Times, which often simply cuts-and-pastes other outlets' stories, irrespective of whether they're accurate or not, has now cribbed a story from HollywoodLife. Without any apparent regard for the truth, the website in earnest maintains, "After pictures of Brad looking suave emerged, Angelina Jolie is having second thoughts about whether she made the right decision to let Brad go." Really? She's suddenly deciding to halt her more than two-year bitter divorce battle and drop everything because he looked good in some paparazzi photos?
In instances like this, Gossip Cop likes to point out how one doesn't need to be seasoned journalists like us, with more than 30 years of reporting experience, to see how completely fabricated this story is. Regardless, the IBT quotes an unnamed and untraceable "source," who supposedly told HollywoodLies, as it's known, how Jolie out-of-the-blue now "misses" Pitt. The almost assuredly fictitious "source" further contends Jolie is experiencing "major regrets" over splitting from her ex-husband.
It was just a few weeks ago that Jolie accused Pitt of not providing "meaningful" child support for their six kids. And in June, while outlining a schedule to give Pitt more time with his children, a judge admonished Jolie for keeping the kids from their father, noting it was "harmful" and could result in her losing primary custody of them. But now, because Pitt looked handsome in pictures, Jolie "misses" him so much she's ready to reverse course in their divorce?
It's all an absurdity. And what makes it more absurd is that just three weeks ago, the IBT ripped off another HollywoodLies article that contradictorily asserted Jolie "resents" Pitt and wants him "out of her life." In that diametrically opposite piece, the IBT maintained Jolie was "ready to move on" from Pitt and even "regrets that she (ever) fell in love with the actor." And yet now, as keep repeating, the site wants everyone to believe Jolie did an abrupt about-face because Pitt photographs nicely?
Just a yesterday, Gossip Cop pointed out how HollywoodLies first fabricated a story claiming the Oscar-winning actress "regrets" ever being involved with her estranged husband and then flip-flopped in a second piece about how Jolie now "regrets" her split from Pitt. As jaded as we can sometimes be, we never expected another outlet would be duped into believing Jolie has "second thoughts" about her divorce from Pitt. But with its blatant disregard for fact-checking or even basic reporting, perhaps readers should have more than "second thoughts" about what they read on the International Business Times.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
