A tabloid claims Angelina Jolie's relationship with her 13-year-old daughter Shiloh is strained because she won't let the young girl spend time with Brad Pitt. The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can correct it.
"Cruel Ange Tells Shiloh: 'You'll Never See Brad Again!'" reads a very dramatic and very untrue headline in the latest issue of NW. The accompanying article says Shiloh has been "miserable" living with her mom, and the situation became more tense this month when Jolie brought the teen and her siblings on her global promo tour for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.
A supposed source tells the magazine, "Shiloh is much more reserved than her other siblings, but recently, while they were all on this seemingly never-ending trip around Europe, she finally spoke up about her true feelings - that she misses her dad and wants to see him more." The questionable insider adds, "She asked to go home to Los Angeles and stay with him while her mom traveled. Ange was horrified and didn't even pretend to think about it - she immediately said no."
The alleged tipster further contends that Shiloh has "hinted in the past that she might like to go live with [Pitt], which is Ange's worst nightmare," especially since her oldest son Maddox has left home to attend college in South Korea. The seemingly phony source goes on to say that Jolie has been attempting to drive a wedge between Pitt and the kids, and it's taking the biggest toll on Shiloh, who's "really yearning for a father figure in her life. She took the divorce the hardest out of all the kids. Shiloh doesn't see anything wrong with seeing Brad more these days, especially as she gets older - she feels it should be her choice."
The tabloid's report is total fiction. For starters, there are photos of Shiloh beaming on the red carpet while attending the various premieres for her mom's Maleficent sequel. The teenage girl happily supported her mom while she traveled around the world promoting the Disney movie. Shiloh also looks perfectly content while out and about with her mom in Los Angeles. The paparazzi have snapped the young girl smiling on many outings with Jolie.
Meanwhile, a judge ruled last year that Jolie was in danger of losing primary physical custody of her kids if she didn't allow them to spend more time with Pitt. That clearly hasn't happened as the children still live with their mom. This means she isn't forbidding Shiloh or any of the other children from seeing their dad. Since last year, the actress agreed to give her estranged husband some form of joint custody, but their divorce has yet to be finalized and the details of the current arrangement aren't entirely clear. One thing is for certain, however, and it's that Jolie isn't keeping her kids away from their dad. She can't legally do so.
Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Jolie, who confirms there's been no rift between her and Shiloh. This wouldn't be the first time NW has pushed the bogus narrative. Back in July, we busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Shiloh had ditched Jolie to live with Pitt. That didn't happen and this latest article makes no mention of the 13-year-old ever moving out of her mom's house. That's because the magazine comes up with new storylines as it goes along.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
