A tabloid claims Angelina Jolie has been on a "hunger strike" ever since a judge ruled last year that she has to share custody of her six kids with Brad Pitt. The story is completely false. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
In June 2018, a judge warned the actress that she risked losing primary physical custody of her kids if she didn't allow her estranged husband to spend more time with them. According to NW, the actress has been refusing to eat as way of protesting the decision. It's unclear how doing so would punish anyone but herself, so this premise doesn't make much sense from the start. Still, an alleged insider is quoted as saying, "She's exhausted from single parenthood and a grueling traveling schedule, but worst of all, she still has a destructive relationship with food."
The supposed source further contends that Jolie suffered a "terrifying collapse" prior to the Los Angeles premiere of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil late last month. "She mentioned that she felt faint and had to hang on to her assistant to save her from going down," adds the suspicious tipster. "Apparently, Ange refused to eat, even after the scare. Ange is obsessed with staying thin and eating as little as possible as a way of maintaining control. It's like she's hunger-striking herself just to prove to herself that she can."
The seemingly phony source continues, "She's splitting her time between promoting Maleficent with filming The Eternals in London and trying to line up her schedule with Brad's for the kids back in LA. With so much going on, her eating - or lack thereof - seems to be the only thing she can control." The unknown insider concludes, "She's lost a huge amount of weight and there are a lot of whispers that she's showing all the hallmarks of anorexia."
None of this is remotely true. Gossip Cop ran the report by an individual in Jolie's camp, who assures us it's totally bogus. This is just the latest baseless allegation coming from a tabloid that endlessly attacks the actress's health. In August, we busted NW for falsely claiming Jolie was being forced into rehab for eating issues.
In June, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for making up a story about doctors warning Jolie to "eat or die." Just a few weeks prior to that nonsense, the tabloid wrongly reported Jolie was at risk for bone disease because she wasn't eating. These are just a few recent examples of how the outlet has created nonexistent health issues for the actress. In reality, Jolie has always been thin and her weight hasn't drastically declined amid her divorce from Pitt. The busy actress has been successfully parenting six children while also focusing on her flourishing career. The idea that she's refusing to feed herself throughout it all is ridiculous.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
