A tabloid cover story claiming Angelina Jolie has become "anorexic" amid her custody battle with Brad Pitt isn't true. The actress isn't starving herself or on the verge of a physical breakdown. Gossip Cop can correct the bogus story.
"76 Pounds & Anorexic" reads the cover of the latest issue of Star, which further contends that Jolie is "divorcing and dying." According to the unreliable magazine, the actress's ongoing fight for custody of her six kids is causing her to "literally" fall apart. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "She feels as if she's being battered from all sides. Angie's an emotional and physical wreck - and she's on the verge of collapse."
The outlet's supposed source goes on to say that Jolie's kids "are so fed up with Angie's behavior that they want to move back in with their dad as soon as possible." The questionable tipster continues, "Angie has lost a lot of weight in the past when she's under pressure, but it's never been this bad. She's practically living on ice cubes, and she's so anorexic her skin is sagging and her bones are almost breaking."
Although it's safe to say that Jolie's acrimonious divorce hasn't been easy on her, the notion that she's physically deteriorating is false. The actress's relationship with her children isn't falling apart either. Earlier this month, Jolie and her kids were spotted shopping at a Los Angeles Whole Foods, which they exited with a cart full of groceries. Both the actress and her children had big smiles on their faces while making their way through the parking lot.
Earlier this week, Jolie and her 14-year-old son Pax had lunch in Los Angeles, followed by a shopping trip. Shortly before that, Jolie was photographed taking her kids to a game room in Los Angeles. The Daily Mail, which posted pictures of the family's outing, even noted, "Her children appeared happy, following what looked to be another fun-filled day out in the City of Angels." In the past month alone, the actress and her kids have been spotted at the movies and the Escape Room in Hollywood. It would appear that Jolie has plenty of energy to entertain her children, who clearly enjoy spending time with their mom.
Meanwhile, People reported earlier this week that Jolie "remains focused on healing her family" as she navigates her divorce from Pitt. Going through a custody battle would obviously take a toll on anyone, but the actress's health isn't at risk and she's certainly not on the verge of "dying." Star is the same outlet that alleged last December that Jolie weighed less than her daughter Shiloh. Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Jolie, who tells us this ongoing narrative about the actress starving to death is "a bizarre story that keeps popping up" and is completely "untrue."
It should be noted, the photo of Jolie that the tabloid uses on its cover appears to have been doctored. Below is an image of the actress taken in June. One can see that the skin on her face and neck isn't sagging, and her complexion is much brighter.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
