A new tabloid report claiming Angelina Jolie collapsed amid her custody battle with Brad Pitt is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk the story. It's both deceptive and inaccurate.
The cover of this week's National Enquirer reads, "Brad Wins Custody As 79-LB Angie Collapses!" Only, Pitt hasn't won custody of their children, Jolie's weight hasn't dropped that low and she didn't pass out. Instead, the unreliable magazine is using the latest development in the exes' custody negotiations to attack Jolie's well-being.
Last month, a judge presiding over Pitt and Jolie's case ruled that the actress must allow her estranged husband to have more visitation with their six kids. The court even stated that the actress could risk losing primary custody of the children if she didn't follow the order. Despite Pitt getting to spend more time with them, the kids are still living with Jolie in London as she films Maleficent 2. He hasn't "won custody" as the tabloid claims.
Still, according to the Enquirer, the stress of the situation resulted in the actress fainting during her visit to a refugee camp in Iraq last month. "Angelina was walking went white as a ghost and became dizzy," an alleged insider tells the magazine. "She was clearly in a pretty bad way. She was so gaunt it seemed the life had totally drained out of her."
To illustrate its phony story, the publication uses a photo of what appears to be Jolie losing her balance and falling backwards. Only, this incident didn't occur in Iraq last month. In fact, it didn't occur in reality. The image was taken back in 2007 while Jolie was filming a scene in Chicago for the action movie Wanted. The tabloid is using a decade-old photo from the set of a movie to try and dupe readers into believing the actress's custody battle caused her to collapse.
As for the claim that the actress only weighs 78 pounds, the magazine has been alleging for years that Jolie's health is in danger due to her weight. The outlet even has a habit of choosing an arbitrary number and assigning it to her. According to the tabloid's calculations, the past few years have seen the actress go from 90 pounds to 76 pounds, and now back up to 78. It's a baseless tactic the magazine keeps recycling.
People, a much more reliable celebrity news publication, reported last month that Jolie is "doing great" amid the custody battle with Pitt. And earlier this week, the magazine noted that Jolie looked "happy and relaxed" while taking her kids to see the musical Wicked in London. On the other hand, the Enquirer's latest article is collapsing under the weight of its lies.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
