One of this week's tabloids claims Angelina Jolie plans to take her six kids to France over the holidays, which would leave Brad Pitt all alone on Christmas. The story is completely made-up. And Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to OK!, the ex-spouses had been discussing splitting holiday time with their children, but Pitt fears the actress will "sabotage his plans" and take their kids out of the country. An alleged insider tells the magazine the actor expects his estranged wife to "pull a stunt" that will involve "whisking the kids to France for the holidays."
"Brad's upset that Angie's even thinking about this," adds the supposed source, who further contends the actor is feeling "especially left out" because the family used to spend Christmas together at their French estate, Chateau Miraval. "They used to pick out a tree together and have a chef prepare a big spread," adds the questionable tipster. "This would make Brad feel like he's really missing out."
The seemingly phony source continues, "Brad fears that all these treasured traditions are in the past, and he doesn't want the kids to forget about him. If Angie takes them to France, she could destroy what little relationship he has left with them."
The tabloid's premise is totally fabricated. Gossip Cop checked in with a Pitt confidante, who tells us on the condition of anonymity that the story is simply untrue. Although it remains unclear how the Jolie-Pitt children will spend the holidays, especially in light of the two reaching a custody agreement, we're assured that OK! has no insight into the situation.
It's worth noting, Pitt only had one visit with his kids over Christmas in 2016, and it doesn't seem he spent much time with them during the holidays last year. It's possible Pitt won't be celebrating Christmas with his children this year, but the tabloid's take on the matter simply isn't accurate. This storyline involving the actor worrying about his estranged wife fleeing to France with the kids is made-up, particularly now that both sides have hashed out everything.
Just one month ago, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for publishing a cover story alleging that Jolie was "tortured by regret" over leaving Pitt and was hoping to repair their marriage. The outlet seems to have forgotten all about that phony narrative. This latest article instead claims the actress plans to "sabotage" her estranged husband's Christmas plans by taking his kids away. Not only does the magazine peddle false stories about Pitt and Jolie, but it doesn't even bother to keep them consistent.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
