A new report claiming Angelina Jolie is refusing to let her Bell’s palsy diagnosis “defeat her” is not only completely made-up, but also proves the site that fabricated the story doesn’t know anything about the temporary medical condition. Gossip Cop can exclusively expose HollywoodLife for manufacturing this fake news. A source connected to the actress calls the outlet’s article “ridiculous.”

The website, which has rightfully earned the nickname HollywoodLies because of its penchant for concocting stories, now alleges Jolie is a “fighter” who “refuses to let her battle with Bell’s palsy take away from any precious moments in life.” The outlet’s seemingly fictitious “source” tells the often discredited blog, “Angie isn’t going to let Bell’s defeat her in any way.” The same almost assuredly fake “source” adds that the actress is “not retiring,” but she’s going to be “very picky” moving forward on what “she wants to focus on.”

The repeatedly disproven outlet, which seems to favor fabricating over fact-checking, further states that Jolie is “not going to play the victim” or “feel sorry for herself” for having Bell’s palsy. It then has its specious “source” cluelessly add, “She wants to be a step ahead of the disease.” “She feels like doing other important things will ease her Bell’s quite a bit,” concludes the blog’s bogus tipster.

Basically, HollywoodLies read in Vanity Fair that Jolie had Bell’s palsy, which caused her face to droop. It then did what it often does when another outlet breaks a story, it manufactured a new, wholly fictitious angle for a second article. Perhaps in its haste to come up with an original (read: phony) report, the outlet didn’t focus on the fact that Jolie had Bell’s palsy last year, and, as the magazine pointed out, had a “full recovery from the condition.”

Wait, if the actress had a “full recovery,” why would she refuse now to “let her diagnosis ‘defeat her'” or “take away any precious moments in life”? Additionally, why would HollywoodLies maintain that Jolie is “not going to play the victim” or “feel sorry for herself”? And why if she’s 100 percent fine now does she need to be “a step ahead of the disease”?

Among the many problems with its inaccurate article is that HollywoodLies seems to think that Bell’s palsy is a life-threatening, persistent and possibly degenerative “disease.” But it isn’t. And no one except for perhaps that poorly reported site believes it is.

So, what is Bell’s palsy? According to the National Institute of Health, “Bell’s palsy is a form of temporary facial paralysis.” That’s right, it’s “temporary.” It occurs as a result of some sort of damage to facial nerves, though some believe it’s tied to viral infections, and the condition is generally treated with steroids, such as prednisone. “With or without treatment,” notes the NIH, “most individuals begin to get better within 2 weeks.”

Simply, HollywoodLife makes up fake news about a slew of celebrities, including the fully healed Jolie. For weeks on end, for example, the site manufactured one fictitious article after another about the actress being in a romance with some mysterious Englishman. Gossip Cop, however, was told by an actual insider that those tales about Jolie and an unnamed British boyfriend were “untrue.”

We’ve also busted HollywoodLies for fabricating reports about the actress dating Johnny Depp and Jared Leto, as well as absurdly contending Jolie and Brad Pitt were getting back together. Those were all 100 percent lies. Still, despite the outlet’s history of concocting articles about Jolie, and its ignorance about Bell’s palsy, we reached out to a source connected to the actress, and we were assured the blog’s claims about her refusing to let her (temporary) condition “defeat her” last year are nothing short of “ridiculous.”
