Is Angelina Jolie adopting a little boy from Syria? That's the claim in one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we've learned the truth.
According to OK!, the actress has a "top secret plan to adopt another child" once her custody battle with Brad Pitt is settled. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "This didn't just come out of the blue — this is something Angie has wanted and believed in for a long time. The custody issue has been taking up much more time and energy than she expected, but they're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. So Angie has quietly begun paperwork to adopt a little boy from Syria."
The outlet further contends that Jolie has "a case of baby fever" and also wants to help out a child in need. The supposed source goes on to say that the actress has told her six kids the adoption news, but she's keeping her estranged husband in the dark. "Brad doesn't have a clue," says the questionable tipster. "Her main concern right now is getting her legal custody mess out of the way and then going to Syria to finalize the adoption process. If everything goes according to plan, she sees this as the start of the next chapter in her life."
The magazine's article is simply fictional. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Jolie, who tells us on the condition of anonymity that she has no plans to adopt another child. It's possible the tabloid came up with the premise because Jolie visited children at a Syrian refugee camp earlier this year. The actress, who's a special envoy for the U.N. Refugee Agency, is dedicated to helping kids who've been displaced from their homes. Jolie will continue her humanitarian work to combat the refugee crisis, but she's not adopting another child.
It should be noted, OK! is the same outlet that Gossip Cop busted in March for falsely claiming that Jolie was adopting a baby with her "new British husband." The magazine said at the time that the actress and her mystery man planned to take home a child from Africa. Of course, Jolie doesn't have a secret husband, or even a boyfriend for that matter, and she hasn't adopted an African baby. This latest article, which is equally phony, makes no mention of the previous premise. It's clear the tabloid just makes up and drops storylines on a whim.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
