Amal Clooney did not get a "makeover" to spice up her romance with George Clooney, despite a ridiculous tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the story. It's completely made-up.
According to OK!, Amal is going all out to ensure that she and George don't earn a reputation as a "boring old married couple," and that involves changing her wardrobe. "Over the summer, Amal felt they were becoming a little complacent in their relationship, so she decided it was time for a makeover," a supposed source tells the magazine. "She wants to inject more passion into their romance and is turning up the heat with her bold new style."
The alleged insider goes on to say that George "loves seeing his wife show off her figure," but the human rights lawyer was also happy to revamp her style for herself. "Amal's in her forties and is a working mom of twins, so she wanted to prove that she still looks good," adds the seemingly phony tipster. "Clearly, she does! She turns heads left and right when she strolls down a sidewalk. It must be gratifying for her to know that everyone thinks she looks fabulous."
The outlet's report is simply absurd. It was concocted based on a photo of Amal wearing a short skirt and knee-high boots during a stroll in New York City last month. Amal has always been known to be stylish, so this was nothing out of the ordinary. She's been getting glammed up for red carpet events with her husband for several years now. Of course, the human rights attorney doesn't get dolled up when she's working on a case or speaking at the United Nations. If the tabloid is comparing how she looked during a casual outing in New York with how she looks while on the job, that's hardly a fair or equal comparison.
Still, Gossip Cop ran the magazine's report by a source close to the situation, who confirms it's all nonsense. That's hardly surprising considering that OK! prints a lot of fiction about the couple's marriage. In May, we busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Amal was threatening to divorce George for being too "childish." So, we're now to believe she's worried about them becoming "boring" and "old"? In addition to both narratives being untrue, they're also inconsistent.
In March, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for wrongly reporting George and Amal were headed for a split because the actor was "partying" too much. This latest article doesn't address the fact that they're still happily married after multiple articles claiming otherwise. That's because the magazine seems to be coming up with its storylines as it goes along.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
