Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender are not having marriage problems, despite a false report. Gossip Cop can correct the untrue claim. The couple's romance is going strong.
According to RadarOnline, however, the spouses of nearly two years are "on the rocks." The unreliable blog has zero proof to back up its claim, but simply notes that the actress was spotted on a yacht in Cannes last month "with an unidentified girlfriend, rather than her husband." An alleged insider is then quoted as saying, "Their marriage has had so many ups and downs in such a short period of time. Alicia was so happy to be in Cannes and thrilled to be able to be herself once again."
The website's story simply isn't accurate. For starters, Vikander was in Ibiza, Spain with her pals, not Cannes, France. And the reason that Fassbender didn't accompany his wife to Ibiza last month is because he was in London doing press for X-Men: Dark Phoenix. In fact, the same day that Vikander was spotted on a yacht in with her friend, Fassbender appeared on "The Graham Norton Show" to promote his new superhero movie.
Just a few days ago, Vikander and Fassbender were spotted cozying up in his hometown of Killarney, Ireland. The actor had his arm wrapped around his wife while taking a stroll through the Irish town, and both had big smiles on their faces. The actress is currently shooting a movie in Dublin, and took a break from work to spend time with her husband. The blog's assertion that their relationship is in trouble is baseless.
Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a mutual pal of ours and the couple, who confirms that the outlet's report is completely false. Our trusted source wasn't able to speak on the record, but assures us that Vikander and Fassbender are happily married.
The spouses keep their relationship very private, which is one of the reasons the gossip media frequently makes up speculative stories about them. Last September, Gossip Cop busted RadarOnline's sister outlet, OK!, for falsely claiming Vikander and Fassbender were "living separate lives." That's not the case.
Back in 2015, a full two years before the couple tied the knot, Gossip Cop called out the site's other sister publication, Star, for wrongly reporting that Fassbender and Vikander were "on the rocks." It's fairly clear at this point that the blog and its sister outlets have zero insight into the couple's relationship. This latest article alleging they're headed for a split is more nonsense.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
