Does Alex Rodriguez really want Jennifer Lopez to spend less time with Leah Remini? That's the claim from one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop, however, can correct this bogus report. We're told it's "not true."

The bizarre allegation can be found in the latest issue of OK!, which announces in a headline, "A-Rod To J. Lo: Ditch Leah!" In the accompanying story, the gossip magazine ridiculously asserts that Rodriguez "doesn't love" Remini, Lopez's "self-proclaimed best friend." A so-called "source" is then quoted as saying, "Leah is by Jen's side constantly and Alex just finds her overbearing. He insists he likes most of Jennifer's friends, but Leah talks a lot about herself and her ongoing public battles and Alex doesn't have patience for it."

According to the tabloid, the former baseball player "doesn't expect" the singer to "cut ties" with Remini, but he's purportedly asked Lopez if she can "scale back on their hangouts." Further contends the publication's questionable insider, "They're inseparable, and he really feels like Leah's presence is putting a damper on the romance. Jennifer has been close to Leah for years, so Alex may just have to deal with it. If he wants more alone time with Jen, he's going to have to whisk her away on a romantic vacation."

But Gossip Cop investigated, and a longtime friend of ours and Rodriguez's assures us the report is 100 percent "not true." Contrary to the outlet's seemingly fabricated story, Rodriguez is not encouraging the singer to spend less time with her best friend, nor does the former baseball player find the actress "overbearing." In fact, just a month ago Lopez posted a photo on Instagram of her snuggling with Remini. That was followed up three weeks ago with Remini sharing a picture of them having lunch together, proving that Rodriguez isn't asking his girlfriend to spend less time with one of her closest friends.

Of course, this newest concoction is coming from the very same tabloid that Gossip Cop previously corrected for wrongly claiming Lopez was "taking a break" from Rodriguez. Much like that clearly inaccurate report, the outlet's most recent tale is similarly bogus.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
