Adam Cunningham Natalie Stovall Voice Battle

Adam Cunningham and Natalie Stovall covered Little Big Town during “The Voice” Battles on Tuesday. Watch the video below!

As Gossip Cop reported, Stovall sang “If It Hadn’t Been For Love” for her Blind Audition, which aired earlier this month. Though she already has a following in the country music world, the singer was relegated to a montage, so her performance was not aired in full. Still, she ended up with Blake Shelton as her coach. He was seen telling her, “I think you’ve got an incredible voice. Oh my gosh. This is perfect, Natalie. Welcome to Team Blake!”

Now, though, in order to stay in the NBC competition, Stovall had to sing with another Team Blake artist and hopefully be named the victor of the Battle. Shelton explained he chose to pair her with Cunningham because they’re both from Nashville, “compliment each other well” and have experience. For the duet, he assigned them “Boondocks,” which is known as Little Big Town’s first hit from more than 10 years ago. In rehearsals, where Rascal Flatts served as a special guest advisor, Stovall revealed she actually performed with them nearly a year ago. And as she sang, Gary LeVox compared her voice to Carrie Underwood, with whom she’s also performed.

Interestingly, although Cunningham played guitar during the duet, Stovall opted not to use her signature fiddle. That allowed her to focus more on her vocal. Following the performance, Jennifer Hudson called Stovall a “cool-looking chick,” but gave her vote to Cunningham. Miley Cyrus liked that both contestants showed “individuality,” and Adam Levine highlighted Cunningham’s stage presence and Stovall’s notes. Shelton lamented that the other coaches didn’t have any steals left, and admitted, “I don’t know what to do here. This never happens.” He even asked his artists, “Do one of you just wanna give up?”

“Hell no,” responded Stovall. But Shelton, noting that no one won or lost, still had to pick only one of them to keep on his team for the Knockouts. And he chose Cunningham! Unfortunately, that meant it was the end of the road for Stovall, and Shelton seemed really disappointed that she had to go. Check out the video below.
