Aaron Carter was attacked at a concert on Friday after allegedly making a racist comment. See video below.

The incident went down at a Bradley, Illinois venue called The Looney Bin. Also on the bill was an act called Ill State, a member of which was allegedly misbehaving in the crowd as Carter was trying to perform. The former child star called on security to remove the guy, who was then dragged away from the scene.

As the unnamed Ill State member was forced to exit, Carter allegedly yelled out, “Bye, Felipe,” a snarky comment like “Bye, Felicia!” The musician, however, was Hispanic, and apparently took the Felipe remark as a racial slur. After being removed from the venue, he came back in and allegedly started attacking Carter.

According to TMZ, he was left bloodied by the fight and had to go to the emergency room. The site obtained video footage of the incident, but it’s hard to tell what’s actually taking place. It’s clear, however, that something chaotic happened. Carter later tweeted, “Everything is good for right now, police are investigating.”

“I’m still standing,” he said. Carter later told fans on Saturday morning, “Just checked out the hospital.” He went on to retweet comments from fans who argued he wasn’t being racist, but simply saying a male form of “Felicia.” The singer currently has another show scheduled at The Looney Bin on Sunday.
