Capitol Fourth Live Stream 2016

“A Capitol Fourth” will be held in Washington, D.C. on Monday in honor of Independence Day. Gossip Cop has a live stream below!

The annual event, started by the National Symphony Orchestra, began on the West Lawn of the Capitol in 1979. In 1982, PBS began televising the concert. Per tradition, it always begins with a rendition of the National Anthem and ends with the “1812 Overture.”

More than 500,000 spectators are expected to attend this year’s festivities. But even if you’re watching from home, viewers will get to see a number of stars. Those scheduled to participate include Smokey Robinson, Kenny Loggins, Gavin DeGraw, Amber Riley, Sutton Foster, Jackie Evancho, “The Voice” winners Cassadee Pope and Alisan Porter, as well as the cast of Broadway’s On Your Feet.

Tom Bergeron, who hosted “A Capitol Fourth” from 2012 through 2014, is back as the emcee. The event will also feature celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the USO and the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service. And, of course, much will be said about America’s 240th birthday. Team USA will also be honored in advance of the upcoming Olympics.

For the first time, “A Capitol Fourth” will be live streamed online via YouTube. It’s slated to begin at 8 p.m. Eastern. Stay tuned! NOTE: The video is no longer available.
