50 Cent has been ordered to pay an additional $2 million in punitive damages to Lastonia Leviston, the woman whose sex tape he leaked online, a New York jury decided on Friday. The jury’s decision comes just two weeks after the rapper was ordered to pay Leviston $5 million for emotional distress and invasion of privacy.

As Gossip Cop reported, 50 Cent posted explicit footage of Leviston on his website in 2010 as part of his ongoing feud with Rick Ross, who has a child with Leviston. Ross isn’t featured in the footage because the sex tape was made in 2008 with her then-boyfriend. Leviston sued 50 Cent for emotional distress and invasion of privacy, claiming she became suicidal after the video was viewed by millions of people. Three days after the jury’s initial verdict on July 10, requiring the rapper to pay Leviston $5 million in damages, he filed for bankruptcy.

During Friday’s court proceedings, 50 Cent’s lawyer suggested the jury award Leviston about $700,000, his client’s income over the past two years for performing in London and appearing in the movies Spy and Southpaw, and on the TV show “Power.” While Leviston’s lawyer had sought additional $15 million, the jury ultimately decided 50 Cent should pay another $2 million. What do you think about the jury awarding Lewiston $2 million in punitive damages?
