50 Cent was arrested Saturday night for saying “Motherf**king” during a concert he performed on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean. The rapper had been warned about cursing in advance, but ignored the religious country’s prohibition against using profanity in public. As a result, he got locked up after his show. On Sunday, he went to court, was released, and is now heading back to the U.S.

50 Cent repeatedly said “Motherf**king” in front of a crowd of 40,000 people while performing his song “P.I.M.P.” (video below), which has the refrain, “No Cadillac, no perms, you can’t see, That I’m a motherf**king P-I-M-P.” Most likely, the rapper will have to pay a fine before being sent on his way. In 2003, DMX was also fined for cursing during a show in St. Kitts.

In the pantheon of legal issues for 50 Cent, this may prove to be among his most minor offenses. The singer was arrested in June 1994 for selling cocaine to an undercover cop. The following month, he was busted again when police found heroin, crack, and a weapon in his home.

50 was again arrested in January 2003 when New York City police officers found a handgun and pistol in his car parked outside a nightclub. Over the years, he’s also been at the center of a domestic violence case and civil suits. In 2013, 50 Cent pleaded “no contest” to vandalism in exchange for the domestic violence charges being dropped against him, stemming from a fight in June that year with Daphne Joy, the mother of his second child, at her California home.

In a statement to Gossip Cop, his rep stated, “Mr. Jackson [50 Cent] was only booked to host the show. When he arrived at the festival, organizers asked him to perform, he obliged and used the DJ they had there. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the clean version to his tracks, so there were profanities used during his performance.” “The show was a great success, and he will make sure for future trips to St. Kitts that he leaves the ‘motherf*****s’ in the United States,” added his spokesperson. Below is video of 50 Cent saying “motherf**king” while performing in St. Kitts.
