Zooey Deschanel Shoots Down Russell Brand Flirtation Rumor

Zooey Deschanel has shot down reports linking her to Russell Brand.

Last month, OK! started a rumor (picked up widely) that claimed Brand, fresh off his divorce from Katy Perry, had been wooing Deschanel with phone calls and texts.

Deschanel herself recently parted with husband Ben Gibbard.

But in an interview with The Guardian, the “New Girl” actress blasts the Brand rumor.

“That’s complete fabrication!” declares Deschanel.

She continues, “I don’t even know him! I maybe met him once, in passing, four years ago. And he definitely doesn’t have my phone number!”

Deschanel adds, “It’s crazy how that got picked up — I mean how does that even happen?”
