Zooey Deschanel, who separated two months ago from her husband Ben Gibbard, has filed for divorce, Gossip Cop confirms.

The “New Girl” star cites “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for the split, which was noted as taking place on October 31 (Halloween).

Deschanel and Gibbard were married for two years before separating.

We were told at the time of the separation that it was “amicable,” and that there isn’t a third party involved.

The actress-musician wed the Death Cab for Cutie rocker in September 2009.
