Zayn Malik Jimmy Fallon Video: Watch First “It’s You” Performance On “Tonight Show”
Zayn Malik performed his new song “It’s You” on Wednesday’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Watch below!
The gig marked several huge “firsts” for Malik as he embarks on his solo career. For starters, this was his first television appearance since leaving One Direction nearly a year ago. Along those same lines, this was the first time he’s given a formal performance since he quit the group.
And it was also the first time he’s performed “It’s You” anywhere. As Gossip Cop reported, Malik first released the song “Pillow Talk” late last month as the lead single from his upcoming debut solo album, Mind Of Mine. It quickly went to number one on the UK Top 40 chart, and debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, too.
It was a remarkable accomplishment, particularly considering One Direction has yet to score a Billboard number one of its own. But it hasn’t been entirely smooth sailing. Malik has received some flak for speaking poorly of his former band, and has accused the guys of lying about keeping in touch. And in late January, Malik was slated to appear on “The Graham Norton Show,” but pulled out at the last minute.
As Gossip Cop noted at the time, a rep for the British star blamed a scheduling conflict due to production on his record. Instead, Malik did an on-camera radio interview with Zane Lowe for Beats 1. But here on “The Tonight Show” is his first official TV performance as “Zayn.” Check out his debut of “It’s You.”
