Zayn Malik #FreePalestine Tweet Sparks Death Threats
Zayn Malik is at the center of controversy after tweeting, “#FreePalestine.”
The One Direction singer posted the political message on Sunday, as violence continues to rage between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
Unlike stars like Rihanna, who tweeted the same thing and then deleted it, Malik has let his tweet stand.
It currently has 150,000 retweets.
But Malik’s statement has upset many of his fans — some of whom made death threats.
“Let me kill you,” wrote one unhappy follower.
Another person posted, “Are you still alive? You should be dead by now and kill yourself.”
Plenty of ugly messages flew back and forth from both sides of the conflict, although Malik himself said nothing more since the original tweet.
