Zayn Malik And Gigi Hadid NOT Engaged, Despite Report
According to Star, the former One Direction singer proposed to his model girlfriend during a surprise trip to New York City earlier this month. This supposed engagement allegedly went down at the restaurant, Butter, where “they were seated at a private table tucked away in the back,” claims the magazine’s so-called “source.” The tabloid’s dubious insider then purports that midway through the couple’s meal, “Gigi practically jumped out of her seat and yelled, ‘Yes!'”
The magazine’s seemingly phony “eyewitness” goes on to say Malik and Hadid celebrated with a bottle of champagne, and “even got a round of applause from fellow diners.” Isn’t it a bit peculiar that a restaurant full of people witnessed the couple’s supposed engagement, and yet not a single other person has shared the story? Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who assures us the tabloid’s entire account of events is simply “not true,” and Malik and Hadid are not engaged.
Of course, Gossip Cop isn’t shocked by the Star’s bogus story, as we have repeatedly busted the tabloid’s sister publication, OK!, for creating fake proposals. We most recently called out that magazine for concocting nonexistent engagements between Kellan Lutz and Brittny Ward, Lea Michele and Matthew Paetz, and Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers.
