Zack Snyder will direct the new Superman movie, Gossip Cop can confirm.

He beats out a handful of high-level directors hoping to land the project.

A representative for Snyder confirmed the news to Gossip Cop.

Snyder is no stranger to comic book and superhero themes, having directed 300 and Watchmen.

The hugely anticipated movie is being produced by Batman maestro Christopher Nolan.
