Zachary Quinto Calls Anton Yelchin Death “Senseless” On “Late Show With Stephen Colbert” (VIDEO)
Zachary Quinto emotionally spoke about Anton Yelchin’s death on Friday’s “Late Show.” Watch below.
As Gossip Cop reported, Yelchin died last month at age 27 after a tragic accident left him pinned between his Jeep and his security gate. In the coming weeks, he was slated to join his cast mates in promoting Star Trek: Beyond, which opens later this month. Now they are left to carry on in his memory.
“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert brought up Yelchin’s passing to express his condolences, prompting Quinto to close his eyes and exclaim, “Oof.” Shaking his head, the actor called his co-star’s death “absolutely senseless.” He went on, “Beautiful guy. I don’t even know how to talk about it.”
“We already knew that this would be a really bittersweet experience because of the loss of Leonard [Nimoy] last year,” Quinto said. “But this has just been absolutely devastating for all of us.” Noting they had worked together for nearly 10 years now, the star continued, “I think our goal just has to be to celebrate his incredible life and honor him as much as we can.”
Quinto added, “[It’s] a terrible loss, I think not only for us, but also to the industry and audiences. He was such a talent.” Check out the video below.
