Silly Rumor Pits Zac Efron vs. Robert Pattinson in “Teen War”

“Zac Jealous of R-Pattz?” begins a dubious post from PopEater, which goes on to claim, “A new teen war is starting in Hollywood, and it pits well-groomed Zac Efron against grungy Robert Pattinson.”

According to a so-called “backstage” source, Efron “couldn’t believe the amount of attention Robert got at the MTV Movie Awards.”

Uh, huh…

Using deliberate, highly unnatural language, the alleged “backstage” source states: “It was only yesterday that Zac was Hollywood’s golden boy, enjoying making young girls scream. That didn’t happen this year. All the girls wanted Robert and barely even noticed Zac.”

“What makes matters worse is that Zac just doesn’t understand Robert’s appeal. He is everything Zac isn’t. Robert looks like a homeless person. And don’t get Zac started on Robert’s messy hair. Zac is defiantly on Team Taylor Lautner. At least he uses moisturizer.”

Uh huh…

So the person who was “backstage” also happens to know Efron’s inner thoughts and feelings?

The PopEater piece ends with “Sorry Zac, knowing Robert, he isn’t going to want to end this war with a dance-off. And don’t sweat the Pattinson crazies … you’re still a gloriously handsome fellow and have much better hair.”

Wow.

Where do we start?

How about with a source close to Efron, who denies there’s any truth whatsoever to the PopEater piece.

The Efron insider tells Gossip Cop, “There has never been any dislike between the guys. Everyone desperately wants there to be [a rivalry]… because they are two gorgeous young movie stars,” but the story is “far from true.”

It’s tough for outlets to report on good relations. And that’s how the handsome duo sparked ugly rumors through no action of their own.

    Yeah, I doubt this….seeing the attention Rob got this year, is really no diff than the attention that Rob got last year (and I think Efron was there then too), so why would it bother him all of a sudden. Pattinson has been the ‘it’ boy for almost 2 years now.. Everyone knows Pattinson rules that world right now. Efron does however need to stop copying Pattinson’s hair. It’s the exact same do’. That speaks to him maybe copying Rpatz, if not being outright jealous.

    yeah pffft to that story. In my opinion they both sweethearts and neither are show ponies and have never acted as such so this carry on would be way out of character anyways. I do wonder when these moron storytellers are going to catch on that us “normal” people have a variety of ways to get a fair gist of our fave stars personalities and what might be going on in their lives through uh….video’d interviews, magazine interviews, their own personal blogs, sites which display their paps (sad face) pics in a positve and HONEST light (popsugar for example don’t attach the tabloidy shite to their pics) anyhows where was I? ah yes when will they catch on that THEIR GAME IS OVERR the truth is more accessible to us thanks to the internet….and of course sites like this very one!!!
