Zac Efron Attacked by RadarOnline with Ridiculous Career “Rehab” Story
RadarOnline is making up stuff about Zac Efron again. The webloid is now “exclusively reporting” that the actor needs “rehab” for his career. “Zac’s movie career is in desperate need of rehab!” shrieks a so-called “source” for the blog, going on to say that Efron “needs to revamp his career and make a major comeback or else he’ll be forgotten.”
RadarOnline’s entire mean-spirited story hinges on the fact that Efron’s most recent independent movies haven’t done as well financially as earlier big studio hits like Hairspray and 17 Again. Of course, those movies were released in thousands of theaters, whereas Efron’s recent passion projects were designed for art house release. RadarOnline ignores that.
Just last year, Efron was featured in two widely-released and hugely successful movies — Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax and The Lucky One. RadarOnline ignores that. In the next few months, Efron is set to star in two more big releases — That Awkward Moment (which created huge buzz with its red-band trailer) and Neighbors opposite Seth Rogen. RadarOnline mentions none of this. Box office hits are not the only sign of a steady career, and even so, Efron is starring in plenty of huge movies. A source close to Efron tells Gossip Cop the RadarOnline story suggesting his career has slowed down is “completely absurd.”
