Zac Efron Fake Weed Photo Gets “Neighbors 2” Extra Fired
An extra was reportedly fired from Neighbors 2 for thanking Zac Efron for weed on Instagram.
Efron has spent the last two months filming the sequel to Neighbors, the hit box office comedy starring the actor as a party-loving fraternity president. Production on the follow-up has been underway in Atlanta since late August. But one person is no longer part of the cast.
According to TMZ, an unnamed male extra has been fired for allegedly insinuating he got weed from Efron. The individual in question posted an Instagram photo of a hand holding a bag of fake weed. The caption reportedly read, “Thanks for the weed Zac Efron! BTW it’s only a prop, people.”
Though it was essentially stated the drugs were fake, TMZ reports the extra was fired for the implication, particularly since Efron battled with drug and alcohol addiction over the last few years. The site claims, however, that the actor didn’t personally have anything to do with the firing decision. Gossip Cop reached out to a rep for Efron for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
It’s not the first strange story to emerge from the Neighbors 2 set, though. Gossip Cop recently busted a false Star report that wrongly claimed Efron and Selena Gomez, who filmed a cameo, had a wild party at a strip club. Just before that, RadarOnline absurdly alleged Efron had gone “missing.” Contrary to both stories, Efron remains sober.
