WATCH: SNL Presents “Young Tarts & Old Farts” Duets Album (VIDEO)
“SNL” mocked the Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga collaborative album “Cheek to Cheek,” which brought together the “voices of two generations,” with a commercial introducing a new record, uniting “the stars of yesterday and today,” called “Young Tarts & Old Farts” (video below).
The album “Young Tarts & Old Farts” introduced the musical pairings of Ariana Grande and Lionel Richie singing “Endless Love,” Barry Manilow and Kendrick Lamar duetting on “Copacabana,” and Macklemore crooning “Same Love” with Diana Ross, who says, “I invented gay people.” There’s also Meghan Trainor and B.B. King teaming up on “All About That Bass,” James Taylor singing with 2 Chainz, and Elton John doing a piano-to-piano duet with Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy on “Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off.” Among the other “ageless icons and today’s pop megastars” paired and mocked are Miley Cyrus, Lorde, Sam Smith, Aretha Franklin, and Crosby, Stills and Psy.
