Woody Harrelson SNL Monologue

Woody Harrelson opened his “SNL” monologue about how he first hosted the show 25 years ago in 1989, but it was a lot different than what Taylor Swift thinks that year was about. He then took out a guitar and sang about 1989, but noted his recollection was a little “fuzzy ’cause of the drugs.” In his song, Harrelson sang that 1989 was the year that the Berlin Wall fell, Michael Keaton was Batman, he had a mullet, he was on “Cheers,” and did a lot of cocaine.

Then his Hunger Games co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth came onstage and interrupted his singing. After they told Harrelson they knew nothing about 1989 because they weren’t alive back then, the “SNL” host said he thought they were in their early forties. Next to come onstage was Jennifer Lawrence, prompting Harrelson to say ,”The real Taylor Swift!” She then corrected him, “I’m Jennifer. We’ve done about 10 Hunger Games movies together.” Lawrence told Harrelson, “You’re always so stoned,” to which he admitted, “I smoked lots of herb before I came here tonight.”

This is the third time Harrelson has hosted “SNL.” In addition to 1989, Harrelson also hosted in 1992. Harrelson’s “SNL” appearance comes just a few days before the November 21 release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, the third film in which Harrelson reprises his role as Haymitch Abernathy.
