Women Of SNL Sing “Say What You Wanna Say” In “Brave” Video — WATCH!
The women of “SNL” — Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong, Lisa Jones, Sasheer Zamata, Vanessa Bayer, Aidy Bryant and guest host Dakota Johnson — sang about telling people what they really want to say in a spoof of the song “Brave” by Sara Bareilles on this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live.” Watch below!
The sketch featured all the women in situations where they finally decided to be brave and speak the truth. For instance, McKinnon confessed she had no intention of going to a co-worker’s birthday party. Bryant told a guy why she wouldn’t go out with him. And Johnson admitted to a friend that she had no idea what her name was… and then couldn’t remember it a few seconds later.
In each instance, the women sang the chorus of Bareilles’ track, which is, “Say what you wanna say/And let the words fall out/Honestly I wanna see you be brave.” The video was shot in the West Village neighborhood of New York just one day before Saturday’s live airing of the show.
In November, along with guest host Cameron Diaz, the “SNL” women did a rap about returning home for Thanksgiving as an adult, but having their parents do whatever they want, as if they were still children. And last April, host Anna Kendrick joined the “SNL” women for a music video all about “dongs.” Check out the new video below. How does it compare to past “SNL” music videos?
