The Wolf of Wall Street Sets F-Word Record
The Wolf of Wall Street has reportedly set a record for the use of the F-word in an American feature film.
According to an exhaustive tally, “f*ck” and its variants are uttered an incredible 506 times during Martin Scorsese’s three-hour epic about greed and excess in the world of finance.
That total breaks the record of 435 for a non-documentary, held by 1999’s Summer of Sam.
Scorsese is no stranger to expletives — his movies Casino (422 f*cks) and Goodfellas (300 f*cks) both make the top 12. The overall record, however, belongs to a documentary called… F*ck, about the word.
