Just watched the new two (2) minute trailer for the movie “Winnie”, great performances by Jennifer Hudson, Terence Howard and Elias Koteas in which all three actors are worthy of Oscar Buzz. Diane Warren what a great song “Bleed For Love”. Best Original song goes to Warren.

Complicated indeed. Before Mandela put her on the back burner, she led a gang of killers in Soweto . I guess Mandela is becoming too old now, to control her.

I’m wondering how honest they’ll be about her … if they’ll address her going over the deep end and becoming a kidnapper and murderer??? I’m thinking, since it’s Hollywood, this will be a feel good movie with little or no mention of that.

I can’t wait to see the movie, but I wished they had used South African actors though even though I love both Terrence and Jennifer. The pronunciation is going to be the biggest challenge for me as a South African who can actually speak the languages, who’s also Xhosa as are Mandela and Winnie. Amandla (All power/power/power to the people/all power to the people) when mispronounced does not have the same ring to it. But I do understand why the chose to go with well-known American actors. As for those who hate Winnie, the woman is as complicated as the country that produced her. She is South Africa personified. She’s beautiful and full of anger just like South Africa, just like the commentators below have proven.
