It’s the first year Bieber was nominated for that award, and it’s the biggest award of the night. He’s also the youngest recipient ever of the “Artist of the Year.”

Bieber won Artist of the Year?!?! Dear Lord, what is this country coming to? I’m kind of embarrassed to be an American right now. I’m sure we’re the laughing stock of the world having this child as our Artist of the Year. What a huge mistake!

  • justsomeone

Yeah Bieber winning anything is a joke. It’s sillier when you remember Bieber is Canadian.

  • Loschia

A bigger joke is sitting there acting like no one from out of the US should win anything at the AMAs. Rihanna is from the Bahama’s someplace and she won some AMA award a couple of years ago. Oh no! Apl.de.ap from the Black Eyed Peas is from the Philippines! Oh the horror that someone not from the United States would win. Just because you don’t like Bieber and his high pitched wailing that teenage girls love, doesn’t mean you need to be an ass about it. It has nothing to do with the fact that he is Canadian and everything to do with the fact that every teenage girl in the US loves him.

  • justsomeone

Every teenage girl in America eh? So you talked to every teenage girl in America? What does that gotta do with anything? Popularity as the measuring stick for quality died a slow painful death in the 90′s.

  • Loschia

I’m sort of thinking you missed the point. The point was that you made an issue out of his nationality, which doesn’t matter or even enter into it. And if popularity wasn’t the measuring stick for quality, none of these people would win anything.
