Willow Smith Releases Somber Song “Sugar and Spice” (LISTEN)

Willow Smith is trying on a different sound.

The 12-year-old daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett debuted her new song “Sugar and Spice” on Tuesday, in which she croons about sadness, silence and the monsters under her bed.

The track bears little resemblance to Willow’s debut hit “Whip My Hair.”

    I think Willow is very aware of the abuse and bullying situations kids today are going through, kudos to her parents for raising such an aware person.

    Wow this is a solid song. I’m impressed at how good she is at such a young age. Far more meaningful and mature than her earlier songs.

    sounds like a cover of radiohead.. this is a decent song and 12yr olds are basically the new 15 so it makes sense to me how she can sing a song like this. cameras don’t capture everything, so who knows what’s really going on in her life. if she wrote this song then maybe this is just a taste of what she feels like her life is.
