WATCH: Willow Smith’s I Am Me Video

VIDEO

(YouTube)

Willow Smith just released her video “I Am Me.”

It shows the 11-year-old singing a more personal, reflective song than some of her previous offerings (like the hit “Whip My Hair”).

The video was shot in a simple style, around various outdoor locations.

Honestly, it’s hard to believe that this privileged child has much to worry about. I get that she wants to be deep and all but this seems forced, not to mention that this clip has the worst miming I have ever seen. When you have nothing to write a deep and meaningful song about why not just stick to upbeat music. A song about how hard it was to deal with the aftermath of a shaved head is not really that meaningful.

Tim she is only 11. At least she feels some type of way about being who she is not who everyone expects her to be. She’s 11 so her songs should be simple anyway, not on some Big Award winning type ish. I believe she is probably helping other little girls that don’t feel like they fit in to feel comfortable being themselves. Plus she prolly has people in her ear trying to get her to change into a Disney princess all the time and she just ain’t feelin it! Im not a huge fan of hers or anything but I give her props for pulling out all the stops she has to embrace her true self expression and not trying to be a “babe”. Hopefully other little girls can hold onto their youth a little while longer.

you guys are talking as though she writes her own music and lyrics, no way! Her parents are awful parents, they let her shave her head, allow a 9yr girl become a popstar. Her parents clearly buy songs for her and have her record vocals and autotune them. Any kid with an ok voice can do exactly what she is doing but most parents don’t want their young children doing things like this.

Sam you just proved PERFECTLY why Willow did this song. Smh. Hater to the left!! Plus if I remember correctly Jay-Z heard Willow’s music (meaning her parents bought nothing) and signed her instantly. Sorry honey, but “any kid with an ok voice” is NEVER signed like that to a major label. That would be a waste of money to have average talent. Plus as you can see Willow brings her own swag that a lot of different people young, old, and from around the world can relate to. Hence her MAJOR success from “Whip My Hair”. Now I’m not a huge fan but I have common sense, experience from being a little girl, and grown enough now to know your BS don’t fly.
