Will Someone Please Explain The Concept of Death to HollywoodLife?
12:35 pm, March 8th, 2010
This one is just ridiculous.
HollywoodLife.com, locked with Perez Hilton in a jaw-dropping race to the bottom, managed to get something right… and still come across as completely oblivious.
Above a screen shot of Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner looking somber during last night’s Oscars telecast, the site asks, “WHY SO GLUM, GUYS!? Do K-Stew and Taylor L. Realize They’re At the Oscars?”
Of the solemn Stewart and Lautner, HollywoodLife then snipes, “Could they have looked any less excited to be at the biggest night of the year in showbiz?”
Amazingly, the typically clueless site actually has the answer to its own question.
The still of the Twilight twosome was taken immediately after last night’s tribute to director John Hughes, who died unexpectedly at 59 this past year. Many of the actors Hughes made famous spoke emotionally about his gifts and friendship.
Then the cameras showed Stewart and Lautner.
Looking solemn.
Because that’s how human beings look during remembrances of the deceased.
“What’s going through their heads?” ponders HollywoodLife.
Gossip Cop is wondering the same thing about HollywoodLife.
Death makes people sad. What did the site expect Stewart and Lautner to do? Laugh and cheer?
