Will Smith and Jimmy Fallon Beatbox “It Takes Two” – WATCH VIDEO!
Before their jam, Fallon got Smith’s praise for his recreation of the iconic “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” opening, which Fallon recreated shot-for-shot on Monday in honor of his week of shows in Los Angeles.
Then they got down to the business of combining Smith’s rap skills and Fallon’s background as a “classically trained beatboxer.” They used an iPad app that let them record layered beats, over which they then performed the Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock classic from the 80s. The crowd seemed to love it.
The duo have quite a history together. Smith was Fallon’s first-ever “Tonight Show” guest last February, where he helped the new host do a bit called “The Evolution of Hip-Hop Dancing.” Of course, Fallon also scored a viral hit a few years ago with his Neil Young parody performing of Willow Smith’s “Whip Your Hair.” It’s been quite a fruitful musical relationship between Fallon and the Smiths.
