CLAIM: Will & Jada Were “Faking” Split Rumor to Boost HawThoRNe Ratings

In a piece titled, “Faking Their Break,” Star magazine now claims that (erroneous) split rumors involving Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were nothing more than “a publicity ruse intended to breathe new life in Jada’s show, HawthoRNe.”

The show, not too long afterwards, was canceled.

Regardless, the tabloid maintains, “Boosting HawthoRNe isn’t the only reason Mr. and Mrs. Smith may have spread the rumor.”

According to one of Star‘s sources, the split story was floated because “Jada’s been complaining that she and Will are starting to look like the Brady Bunch, with all the kids now stepping into the spotlight as well.

Adds the source, Jada feels she and her husband are viewed as “too family-friendly” and “too boring.”

Then why not leak a sex tape or rob a bank?

The answer is because those scenarios are just as preposterous as Star‘s theory about “faking” marital strife to “breathe new life” into a TV show.

For good measure, though, Gossip Cop checked with someone who’s close to the couple, and we’re told Star‘s story is “completely false.”

Once again, the only “faking” here is Star‘s attempt at journalism.

    Peop[le should be happy when a family stays together and or happy, come on people we hae enough trouble in the world with family spliting up and the children being the helpless victiim. Let;s start being more kind and loving to our love ones and the people we meet. There is enough of BAD and HATRED going on in the world! We wonder why people see a crime being committed and don’t even pick up the phone to make a police report, really? I loe shows like Hawthorne, Brady Bunch, Cosby Show, showing we are a family, we have problems, but we can work on them through communcation and the love we have for each other.

    Jada from what it is reported is living alone both in New York and in their home in California. She has been living alone for quite a long time. Whether Marc Anthony is part of her “life” right now is questionable.

    @ Karen: They were imitating each other!! As you can plainly see, Will is sitting with his legs crossed and leaning into Jada, a pose that SHE usually has in photos. It was supposed to be funny.

    She looked high in the picture taken of them at the BET Awards. Somebody should tell her that ladies cross their legs when they are sitting down and men sit with their legs wide open. Anyway, I could care less if they split. I don’t like either one of them.

    I have always found Will and Jada Smith Marriage, friendship, commitments, differences, and dedication to each other careers, and there children. To be a great role model, for our young black men and women. I am 25 and whether the mend their differnces our depart. They will always be my role model and the great example to set and share in my life and with my two daughter who are 2 & 4. I will pray that God will continue to used them and poor into there lives even more. For the media, I pray, one day you will understand how your outrages post and claims effects those in the world. Who finds the greater good in people instead of the negative gossip, or stories you have to print, to sell or make a cover.. May ,God Bless you, and guide you, into a destiny, that will fulfill the younger generations.

    Will and Jada forever, what they have built togeather had to be of God.
    Jada need to know that She was a hit on her show, it was her surounding cast that,
    blew it for instance no one and I mean no one wanted to see mark anthony play
    her main concern, you get the picture. She is a powerful acteress, you have to put
    powerful co-actors with her. (producer you drop the ball)
