Whoopi Goldberg Called Herself “Slave” During Racist Rant At ‘The View’?
Whoopi Goldberg did NOT go on a racist tirade backstage at “The View” or refer to herself as “slave,” despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this story. We’re told it’s “untrue” and “offensive.”
According to the Daily Mail, Goldberg supposedly blew up after newly hired ABC executives decided to reschedule one of the show’s daily staff meetings for 30 minutes before Goldberg’s arrival at the studio. A so-called “insider” at the show tells the tabloid, Goldberg called herself a “slave” while throwing a fit about being shut out of the meeting. “She was out of control,” the alleged “source” says. “She paraded up and down the halls saying, ‘I’s a work for ABC who is my master. I’s a slave to ABC. It’s 12 Years a Whoopi at ABC.'”
The paper’s seemingly specious “source” adds that Goldberg also loudly shouted, “I’s just a [N-word] following orders around here, master!” Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for “The View,” who tells us exclusively that the Daily Fail‘s report is completely fabricated. The spokesperson for “The View” says the tabloid’s story about Goldberg is “ridiculous, untrue and offensive.”
For her part, while Goldberg would not even acknowledge the Daily Mail, she said at the end of Tuesday’s show, “You know that there are stories that are going to come out and 99 percent of them are not true. We are who we are. You are who you are, and so we wish for you to have a great day and take a little time to enjoy ‘The View.'”
