Whoopi Goldberg Surprises Nuns With Free Car In ‘Sister Act’ Habit On ‘The View’ (VIDEO)
Whoopi Goldberg got back to her Sister Act roots on Thursday’s “The View,” surprising a group of nuns with a free car and more gifts to ensure they are able to continue their charitable works. Watch the video below!
After it was pointed out that one of the nuns resembles Goldberg, the talk-show host came out in her habit from Sister Act and showered The Franciscan Handmaids of the Most Pure Heart of Mary in New York with a slew of gifts. “I understand that the biggest challenge that you all are facing when it comes to running the pantry is having enough food to feed the over 20,000 people you feed a year. Is that correct?” Goldberg asked the women. She went on, “I think we have a solution.”
Then, with the help of RetailMeNot, Goldberg gifted the nun $10,000 to stock their pantry in order to continue feeding those in need. And the surprise only got better. “Sister Rosemary, I saw you trying to cram food into that itty bitty little car of yours,” the host said. “Trying to make so many trips to deliver food for people who can’t travel or are too sick to get to the food pantry, and I know there has to be a better way for you to serve people in need.” With the help of Toyota, Goldberg gave the nuns a year’s worth of free gas and a brand new van. Needless to say, the Franciscan Handmaids were filled with overwhelming joy. Check out below the touching video, which also includes a choir singing.
