Whoopi Goldberg And Raven-Symone Defend Kelly Osbourne’s Controversial Latino Immigrants Comment (VIDEO)
Whoopi Goldberg and Raven-Symone came to Kelly Osbourne’s defense on Wednesday’s “The View” after she was criticized for making an offensive remark about Latino immigrants cleaning toilets. See the video below.
As Gossip Cop reported, Osbourne was commenting on Donald Trump calling Mexican immigrants “rapists” and “criminals,” when she said, “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?”
Osbourne took to Facebook shortly after the show aired to apologize, and on Wednesday’s “The View” her friends Raven-Symone and Goldberg stood by her, saying Osbourne simply made a mistake and is not a racist. “I just want to start by making something clear,” said Goldberg. “The point she was actually trying to make is that Donald Trump’s stance on immigration would only end up hurting the people that Donald Trump is counting on.”
Goldberg added, “And one of the things that happens on live television is that you try and get your point in and sometimes you step in dog doo. It does not make you a racist. Sometimes your head works faster than your mouth.” Goldberg continued noting, “If you’ve ever met a racist, it’s pretty clear. They’re pretty clear.”
Raven-Symone also commented on the backlash, noting she’s been “best friends” with Osbourne for years and doesn’t believe the former reality star “would be a racist if she was friends with me.” Raven-Symone also said that Osbourne “feels awful right now.”
