Whoopi Goldberg Slams Duggar Interview: Don’t Use God To “Downplay” Josh’s Sexual Assaults (VIDEO)
Whoopi Goldberg slammeed Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s interview with Megyn Kelly on Thursday’s “The View,” telling the “19 Kids And Counting” stars not to “downplay” Josh Duggar’s sexual assaults, “especially after what you guys have done in the name of Christianity and God to other people.” She reiterated, “Don’t bring up God. Don’t do it!” Watch the video below!
Guest panelist Raven-Symone agreed with Goldberg, saying, “They needed to give more respect to the victims as well.” She added, “They needed to bring up more topics about what the girls that suffered these atrocious acts went through.”
Molly Sims, who was also a guest panelist, tried to defend the Duggars, arguing that the revelations “should’ve never been leaked” and that they tried to get help for Josh. “Do you know how hard it is to turn your own child in?” Sims asked.
But Goldberg hammered away at how the Duggars. “The bottom line is they did not come forward. They were forced forward because somehow this got leaked and… they were blaming the cops.” Mostly, Goldberg was disturbed by how the Duggars “play the Christian card.” She said, “Don’t bring up God. Don’t do it! You can’t do that and talk about God forgiving people when you don’t have forgiveness in your own heart.”
As Gossip Cop previously reported, Michelle Duggar told Megyn Kelly on Wednesday’s “Kelly Files” that she and her husband were “devastated” by Josh’s “really bad choices” when he sexually assaulted their daughters, but felt “God is going to use all this for good.”
