Whoopi Goldberg’s Contract On “The View” Not Being Renewed? (EXCLUSIVE)
A report claiming Whoopi Goldberg’s contract on “The View” is not being renewed is entirely untrue. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the claim.
According to RadarOnline, Goldberg’s “contract for her job on ‘The View’ is coming up for negotiation — and it’s shaping up to be a bitter battle.” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “Her attitude is worse than ever. Whoopi thinks she is the star player now and she feels like she has all the leverage.”
But, the webloid’s “source” claims, “a lot of people on set want her gone,” and “The View” creator Barbara Walters supposedly “seems like she almost hates her now.” The site even sensationally and wrongly implies that Candace Cameron Bure leaving Tuesday’s show mid-episode because she was sick is a sign that Goldberg is disliked by her colleagues. And all that’s enough for the outlet to declare Goldberg “may not be on ‘The View’ much longer.'”
Gossip Cop, however, wonders how much longer RadarOnline will keep posting Goldberg hit pieces and factually inaccurate stories about “The View.” We already corrected the webloid in 2014 for wrongly claiming Walters was coming back full-time, and last September for falsely alleging ABC was trying to get Goldberg to leave the show. And then there was the report in November about Gwyneth Paltrow supposedly getting a $1 million offer to become a co-host.
All this time later, the site still doesn’t know what it’s talking about. A rep for “The View” exclusively tells Gossip Cop the claim that Goldberg’s contract may not be renewed is “not true.” In fact, we hear producers are looking forward to having her on the morning talk show for some time to come.
