Whoopi Goldberg Pays Tribute To Alan Thicke On “The View” (VIDEO)
Alan Thicke was remembered on “The View” on Wednesday with a tribute from Whoopi Goldberg. Watch below.
As Gossip Cop reported, Thicke died on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack while playing hockey with one of his sons. He was 69 years old. Following the news of his passing, Twitter was inundated with tweets from celebrities mourning the “Growing Pains” star. Now, live on “The View,” Goldberg offered her own words.
After a joke made the whole panel laugh, Goldberg bittersweetly noted, “You know who would have this kind of laugh also about a crazy subject like this was Alan Thicke. He was just a great guy. One of the great television dads.”
“I don’t know if a lot of people know this,” Goldberg continued, “but he was responsible for a lot of beloved TV theme songs, like ‘Diff’rent Strokes,’ ‘Facts Of Life,’ and he was just a helluva guy. And he was funny. He was funny.”
She went on to sigh, “Damn. Well, you know, this is the cycle, right? And so, safe travels, my friend.” Goldberg and Thicke worked together on two “Comic Relief” specials in the late 1980s. “View” co-host Joy Behar now added, “Everybody says he was so much fun, and he was fun.” Check out the clip below.
