Whitney Houston Funeral Home Owner: I Know Who Leaked Casket Photo (VIDEO)

The owner of the Whigham Funeral Home that handled Whitney Houston’s burial says she knows who disgustingly leaked the photo of the singer resting in her casket.

At a press conference held Thursday, Carolyn Whigham – who previously denied being responsible for distributing the photo to the National Enquirer – announced that she knows the leaker’s identity but would not reveal it to the press.

Added Rev. Jethro James, pastor of Paradise Baptist Church, “It’s up to the Houston family to release the name.”

Whigham, however, said she is eager to clear her own name after receiving threats from those who wrongly believe she is responsible.

Check out Whigham’s comments in the video below.

    Interesting.

If that’s not a plea for an exclusive paying interview, I don’t know what is.

If she really wanted to clear her name, she would have said who leaked it. She’s looking for a payday. What else is new?

She has a right to say what she is saying. She wants to clear her funeral home’s name. Someone spit in her face. How low can that person get. It seems like maybe the security had something to do with the leak. Maybe National Enquirer had someone to pose as a security person. They say those tabloids have spies. It’s a shame what they do. I think that she wants Whitney’s family to decide to leak the name if they choose, because they are the ones who are pursuing it with a lawyer… I would guess. Seems as if she would expose and sue who leaked that too, since she has received a lot of hate for it. Maybe she was offered money not to pursue or it has already been settled with her, maybe by being compensated in the future. She should aggressively go after that person too for pain and suffering. I don’t understand why she isn’t. That person should be exposed (if she is thinking of the reputation of her funeral home) to let people know for sure that she had nothing to do with it.. I don’t get it.

Who cares? Just about everyone who has a funeral is viewed in their coffin. pictures are commonly sent out to friends & relatives. I mean, everyone knew for sure Whitney was dead, so I don’t think anyone went into deep shock by seeing her in her coffin. This Whitney publicity blitz is getting out of hand. Her family should just cool it and try to show some class instead of adding fuel to the flames of all this negative publicity. Enough already!

I believed her. She might have been afraid to reveal the name because she may have been advised not to by a lawyer. I understand the Houston family going after someone for leaking that photo. I do. Whereas I agree with @woodymcbreairty about “Enough already!” I do understand her family wanting to take action. It was the family’s last time with her and it got desecrated by someone who leaked a photo. I would not want the last photo of me to be in my casket.

Whitney is dead…please let her stay there and drop the stupid stories about her.

  • French Flies

I agree. I think this is blown way out of proportion. Yes, it was rude and inappropriate, but little about death follows decorum. She was well prepped and presentable.

“pictures are commonly sent out to friends & relatives. ”

I’ve never, ever seen anyone take or distribute a photo of a deceased person in a coffin, and I’ve been around a long time. They used to do that back when photography was brand new and uncommon. Some times it was the only photo they would have of their loved one. But, nowadays, everyone has loads of photos of their loved ones happy and healthy. Why would you want one of them dead?

  • Dr.M

No respectable funeral home would ever take a picture of the deceased, except as requested by the family, and would never give it to anyone but the family. Whoever took the picture should confess to their extrejely distasteful behavior. And, if the family actually khnows, they should come forward with the name.

If everyone, went into the oven (as they should), we wouldn’t be having this worthless conversation.

People who enjoy looking at the deceased in their caskets are sick. It’s not a portrait! I must agree though, if the family knows who leaked the photo allow them to handle it. The job of the funeral home is to do the best service which the family has hired them to do. Personal affairs and the media hearsay and garbage should be dealt with by the family and their attorneys. Rest in peace Whitney and I shall remember you for your awesome voice, lyrics and talent.

You first! What an ignorant comment and waste of space.

That is because this lady has God on her side and that is all that matters to her. She wants to clear her family’s name and reputation and that is enough for her. Not everybody is out for blood or $$. I have much respect for her and wish her the best. What she did today should be commended. It takes a lot of courage and character to stand before the media to defend your honor and do it with class!

  • Mary Wilson13

yes let her rest in pieace, everyone go on with your lives, yes the picture shouldnt of been published, not good, the family has suffered enough, the press needs to but out how would they feel if someone published a family of theirs that died and put that picture in the papers, so get a grip leave this family alone let them grive in peice….

  • Carmenlove2

Very powerful and well done! I believe her. I wish they leave her alone.

  • JAZMIN-MARIA

    AMEN

  • Phweston0269

Maybe she doesnt know who took the picture. Whoever did was paid very well and is protected as a confidential source by the 1st Amendment.

  • Puddin

    Who cares

  • Set them free

I’d be bent if I was this woman too. I bet the Houston family found out it was one of their own family members that leaked the photo and don’t want to let it be known in the press but they already shamed this poor woman’s business. That’s her livelihood. Clear her name people!

The whole thing comes down to how sick society is. Whoever took the picture and made money or even for that matter if they didn’t make money it’s a matter of respect! Why would anyone want to ever disrespect people like this? For what? Ridiculous and it’s embarrassing. Her family didn’t Jane to be gracious to let the people see her services or im sure that would be another idiotic thing that oh she really isn’t dead? I’m really tired of people hurting others for no reason and especially for what? Let people grieve fans knew Whitney as a person not as a friend or family member! And yeah if it was a family member than I’m sure they will deal with it but why should me or you or anyone keep talking about it? Stupid because they are hurt enough

  • adayofrest1

very well said Jenn Horvath1976, very wise as well
