(National Enquirer)
“Worried friends and family members are begging Whitney Houston to go back into rehab!” screams the opening line of this week’s National Enquirer cover story, which has prompted legal letter from Houston’s camp.
According to the Enquirer article, loved ones “fear she may have returned to her deadly drug abuse habits” and are trying to get her “into a facility for testing and treatment, if necessary, before her demons dead-end her career.”
One unnamed source is quoted as saying, “Whitney is drinking alcohol and she’s frequently dazed, confused and seemingly out of it.”
The Enquirer source adds the family feels “strongly that Whitney won’t be able to finish the tour unless she gets help right away — and they believe it could save her life.”
Famed Hollywood attorney Marty Singer issued the following statement:
“The National Enquirer continuously publishes false, fabricated and malicious stories about Whitney Houston, including the latest cover story with the headline saying it’s ‘REHAB FOR WHITNEY.’”
“Whitney is not headed to rehab, she is headed to Paris, where she will be continuing her world tour.”
Houston’s camp made special note in the statement, “Whitney is not using drugs and is not in rehab. She is on tour, putting on great shows.”
