Whitney Houston Possessions To Be Auctioned

Truth rating: 10

Some of Whitney Houston’s possessions will be auctioned next month.

Fans and memorabilia collectors will have the chance to bid on various items, including a black velvet dress and a pair of faux pearl earrings Houston wore in The Bodyguard.

The so-called “Hollywood Legends” auction, which also features belongings once owned by Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana, is slated to take place March 31 and April 1.

According to auctioneer Darren Julien, the Houston items only became available after her death. He says that’s not uncommon.

“You buy items just like a stock,” Julien tells The Associated Press. “Buy at the right time and sell at the right time, and they just increase in value.”

Julien adds, “For people who are fans of Whitney Houston and never would have had a chance to meet her and never got to talk to her, these are items that literally touched a part of her life.”

Do you think the auction is appropriate?

Damn, the earth hasn’t even settled on her grave yet. Is this what she wanted done in her will?

    moving a little fast aren`t we,she just got buried,geez

Damn. The reports of her money issues would have to be true, then. I wonder if she didn’t have a will.

I suspect the reports of money issues ARE true- I’ve read that she had to borrow money from Clive Davis to keep her homes from being foreclosed on. And, apparently, she did not own her music, but got royalties. Her estate is probably insolvent until there are sales of more songs and property.

I don’t think that these are “her possessions”. There are not that many cases where actors/actresses actually own the things they wear at the movies they make.
There are always actions about celebs’s things and I think someone who had bought it decided to sell this dress Whitney wore in Bodyguard. No big deal to me.

You’re right, the owner of this stuff is only selling now because she died, to get more publicity and a buck or 2 more. I wasn’t even thinking straight when I posted earlier about her grave or will, but certainly this has nothing to do with her estate and I should have realized it. Thank you.

Nope, this has nothing to do with her estate, but just stuff someone owned who is selling it now to make money. I wasn’t thinking about it right myself, until I read someone posted here about it.

It doesnt matter who owns it ,I think its a little to soon ,let her and her family have a little peace before ANYONE starts making monies for things that she wore or etc.Its called RESPECT…..

Let’s hope this goes good for every one involved.

People, especially Whitney’s family haven’t even begun to recover from her death yet. The last thing anyone in her family should do is make quick changes after an untimely death. What if Bobbi Kristina decides she wants some of the auctioned items after they have been sold? She is definitely not stable enough to make those kinds of decisions yet. Slow down and let Whitney RIP before wiping out all traces of her life.
