WATCH: Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp Netflix Teaser!
If anyone wasn’t sure whether the new “Wet Hot American Summer” Netflix series was bringing back all the big stars from the cult hit movie, a new teaser released on Tuesday should put those doubts to rest. Watch the video below!
The teaser slowly zooms in on a summer camp cabin, where the action takes place in 1981. According to the Netflix statement, “The counselors are confirmed in this teaser for ‘Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp,’ a limited 8-episode series coming to Netflix just in time for summer.”
It continues, “Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, and Michael Showalter are among some of the cast joining the series, which tells the story of the first day of Camp Firewood’s famous summer season, now fourteen years after the film’s debut. The series is directed by David Wain and co-written by Wain and Michael Showalter.”
The original movie followed the goings-on at camp on the last day of summer. The new show focuses on the first day of the same summer, with the same cast still playing counselors, even though they’re middle-aged. It should be glorious. Watch the teaser below, and tell us what you think.
