Wendy Williams: Terrence Howard Should Be Kicked Off “Empire” (VIDEO)
On Thursday’s “The Wendy Williams Show,” which taped hours after FOX aired the second “Empire” episode of season two, the host argued that Howard does more harm to the hit show than good. The record-breaking series, of course, revolves around his role as Lucious Lyon, the ill but extremely powerful head of Empire Entertainment with three sons and a revenge-seeking ex-wife. While most of the acting acclaim has been showered on Taraji P. Henson, Howard is undoubtedly the series’ male lead.
No matter, says Williams. If he was written off, “I would be happier than mad. There, I said, it,” she declared during her Hot Topics segment. “And you can fight with me all day long. I do not clap back on social media.”
Williams went on to say of Howard, “Between him allegedly being abusive to women in his personal life, him giving an 18-page nutty interview to Rolling Stone magazine, where he talked about all kinds of nuttiness… And, again, going back to how he allegedly treats women in his life.”
“It [has] usurped his entire situation at ‘Empire,’ and the show could do without Terrence Howard,” Williams said to applause. “I’m sorry. It’s the way I feel.” Howard has openly spoken about his domestic violence history in recent weeks, which it seemed sparked Williams’ remarks. The comments come one day after Gossip Cop exclusively busted a tabloid story falsely claiming Henson and Howard were feuding.
In actuality, they’re the “best of friends,” as the actress’ rep told Gossip Cop. As for Williams, she’s already made headlines this week for suggesting Kim Zolciak was “faking” her stroke and telling Nicole Scherzinger she lost out on her “good years” for having children.
